President's Day weekend is always a big deal in our house. Not only is it a long weekend to begin with but its also always right around Valentine's Day and our anniversary.
This year it was even better now that we have our little man to join us in our fun. We just love him so much.
A couple days before Valentine's Day Ryan surprised me with white roses asking me to be his Valentine. Of course I said yes. But this year since I had two valentines I had to make sure I didn't forget either of them.
Valentine's Day itself was so fun. Ryan wrote me a beautiful poem and read it to me in the morning. I got to snuggle with Tucker extra long before I went to work and work was a short half day for me.
I got Ryan a pound of his favorite See's Candies and made him a super cute card.
Oh and did I mention that on my way to work that morning I won front row tickets to a Hunter Hayes concert in April?? Crazy! I never call into radio shows!! Pretty neat!
When I got home from work, Ryan surprised me with even more roses and chocolates and Martinelli's.
We even got to go to the temple together since we got some of Ryan's family to watch Tucker for a couple hours. It was so nice. I haven't been since Thanksgiving and it was so wonderful to go again.
That night we went to a little restaurant with Ryan's family and waited for an obnoxious group to take 45 minutes to eat their dessert before we could be seated. It was so rude. We didn't order our food til an hour after our reservation was supposed to begin and Ryan and I had to end up just getting ours to go since we had Tucker with us and it was 9 pm before we got our food to our table. Not the most successful V-Day dinner ever but whatever it was still a nice night.
Well the following day (15th) Ryan was a groomsman in one of our friends weddings. It was a super cute wedding and Ryan looked so dapper in his suit. We had a good time seeing friends who came into town for the wedding and the reception was fun.
Then it was our anniversary! Woo hoo! Three years! It was a Sunday so we didn't do much. We went to church and then headed up to Ryan's brothers house for some dinner. It was a nice relaxing afternoon.
But the most delicious part of the weekend was the dinner I made for us on Monday night. I made filet mignon, roasted asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes with yummy sparkling red grape juice. And for dessert, my favorite, Dirt Cups. That's right. I made filet mignon and served dirt cups with it. They were absolutely delicious. Be jealous. I am the best cook around.

Can I just say that the past three years have just flown by? Ryan and I have seriously done evertyhing together!
- We have traveled all over the world (Five continents including ten countries!)
- We have started a non-profit with some friends that has been crazy successful in Jordan.
- We have worked together in starting a consulting company and worked on projects in Uganda and the Middle East.
- We have lived in four apartments.
- We have had four cars.
- We have both gotten our Bachelor's Degree's.
- Ryan is a mere 7 weeks from finishing his Master's Degree.
- We have applied for PhD programs of all things and should hear back in a couple weeks with our official offers.
- And, most importantly, we have grown our family by one amazingly cute little boy
In other words, these past three years have been the best years of my life. I wouldn't have traded a single second of it. I have the most wonderful husband and the sweetest son on the planet and we have the best life possible.
I love, love, love my boys and I am so grateful for a husband who loves me just as much.
Happy Anniversary Ryan.
